Indigenous Business Chamber of Australia IncorporatedBringing together business experience and expertise. The Chamber is a not-for-profit public company, for the benefit of the indigenous business community in Australia. The Indigenous Business Chamber aims to bring together the enormous strengths of those people in the business community who come from culturally diverse backgrounds. These talents, skills, expertise and relationships can work together to increase business opportunities in the ACT. The Indigenous
Business Chamber is affiliated with the ACT & Region Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, which is (together with the other State/Territory Chambers) a
foundation member of the Australia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
These links bring
access to the international and national Chamber movement, including the
International Chamber of Commerce, the Confederation of Asian Chambers of
Commerce and Industry, the Indigenous Business Chamber and Austrade. They
bring access to overseas delegations and international trade inquiries. Benefits include,
networking, access to government and the diplomatic corps. Our Role The Chamber’s primary role is as the peak body providing a business chamber for indigenous business people and others with an interest in indigenous business and to support opportunities to create business relationships. The Chamber’s role is to represent the indigenous business community, interact with Government, and other business chambers and associations. The Chamber takes a lead role in representing the views of indigenous business to government. The Chamber's objective is to ensure that legislation or proposed policy approaches address the needs of indigenous businesses. Our Activities Our activities include:
